    Fireworks By-law Restrictions and Safety Reminder

    As the Township’s By-law Department gears up for the May long weekend, many are preparing to celebrate with a fireworks display. While fireworks can be a great addition to gatherings, the Township of Lake of Bays reminds residents about a number of restrictions and regulations concerning fireworks to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

  • Draft Economic Development Strategy for Review and Comments

    The Township of Lake of Bays has prepared a Draft Economic Development Strategy for review and comments from Council and the public. This draft strategy is being presented at the June 4, 2024, Council meeting. The agenda for this meeting can be found on the Township's Agendas and Minutes webpage. The draft strategy is now available for public review and feedback. By reviewing the draft recommendations and offering comments, community members can play a crucial role in shaping the final strategy, ensuring it aligns with the community's needs.

  • Hospice Huntsville Flag
    Flag Raised for National Hospice Palliative Care Week | May 5 to 11, 2024

    As part of National Hospice Palliative Care Week, the Township of Lake of Bays raised the flag of Hospice Huntsville, which will fly from May 5th to May 11th, 2024. Councillors and township staff joined representatives from Hospice Huntsville to honour the dedicated teams providing hospice palliative care in our area and across Canada.

  • Half-Load Restrictions Removed

    Please be advised the reduced load limits of 5 tonnes per axle (maximum) on all roads under the jurisdiction of the Township of Lake of Bays have been lifted and reduced load limits are no longer in effect.

  • Township Opens New Grant, Offering Up to $5000 for Environmental Protection and Sustainability Projects

    The Township of Lake of Bays has launched a new Environmental Projects Grant Program. This grant opportunity will provide financial support to initiatives that directly contribute to enhancing the quality of life for Lake of Bays residents while prioritizing the improvement of water quality and ecosystem health. Through this program, staff and council aspire to engage our community in projects, events, and services that promote sustainability, biodiversity, and environmental stewardship.

    (Huntsville / Lake of Bays) On April 27 around 7:50 p.m. Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Fighters from Station One in Huntsville responded to a report of a backyard deck on fire at a home on Crestview Dr. in Huntsville.

  • Electrical Fire in Dwight Detached Garage

    (Huntsville / Lake of Bays) On April 25th around 7:45 pm Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Fighters from Station Two in Port Cunnington and Station One in Huntsville responded to reports of an electrical heater on fire in a detached garage on Spring Lake Road in Dwight.
