The Special Air Quality Statement continues for the Lake of Bays area. High levels of air pollution are present due to smoke from forest fires in Quebec and northeastern Ontario.

(LAKE OF BAYS, ON) On June 6th, 2023, in celebration of Seniors Month, The Township of Lake of Bays’ Council presented the Ontario Senior of the Year Award to local resident Caroline Konarzewski.

Please note: A Special Air Quality Statement has been issued for the area by Environment Canada and the Province of Ontario. Parts of Lake of Bays are experiencing poor air quality and reduced visibility due to smoke from forest fires in Ontario and Quebec.

The Lake of Bays Community Centre renovation project, Operation Facelift, has received a generous donation of $710 from the Baysville Exercise Group.

(LAKE OF BAYS, ON) The Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Department is excited to launch the Baysville Get Alarmed Program, a community-wide fire safety initiative, made possible through a generous donation of 300 hardwired First Alert smoke alarms from the Baysville Curling & Bocce Club.

(LAKE OF BAYS, ON) With a permanent population of approximately 3,759 and an additional 11,720 seasonal residents, the Township of Lake of Bays has a vast network of roads, bridges, community centers, libraries, senior centers, fire halls, and various other Township-owned buildings.

Part of the Township of Lake of Bays Council had the honour of attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the highly anticipated new Fairvern Long-Term Care Home facility in Huntsville.

(LAKE OF BAYS, ON) The Township of Lake of Bays' Public Works Department is thrilled to announce that our annual Spring Grading Campaign is currently in full swing. Our dedicated team, in collaboration with a contracted grader, has been diligently working to enhance and maintain the quality of our gravel roads.

(LAKE OF BAYS, ON) The Township of Lake of Bays’ Parks and Facilities Department has partnered with the Beaver Creek Institution Community Service Volunteer Group to assist with spring cleanup efforts in local cemeteries and parks.
