    Please note that recent test results from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit show that bacteria levels at Dwight Beach are within normal limits. The beach's earlier swim advisory is now lifted.

    Did you know that 22 per cent of all wildfires in Ontario are human-caused? The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department would like to remind residents of the importance of being careful when having a campfire and following the Outdoor Burning By-law in order to avoid preventable loss of forests, property, and risk to humans and animals due to wildfires.

  • Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook

    The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) – Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District is advising area residents and visitors that a Watershed Conditions Statement – Flood Outlook Bulletin is in effect for the district until Friday, July 19, 2024. A Flood Outlook is an early notice of the potential for flooding based on weather forecasts.

This program is aimed at encouraging reinvestment in privately owned properties located in the CIP project areas, being the Township’s four settlement areas (Baysville, Dorset, Dwight and Hillside), especially where it will enhance the public realm and make a positive contribution to overall vitality.

  • Public Notice: Upcoming Road Closure in Baysville

    Please be advised that the IRONMAN 70.3 Muskoka will take place on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. As a result of the planned bike course, District Road 117 in Baysville will be restricted to traffic for the event, with vehicles rerouted through Bridge Street.

  • Public Notice: Cancellation of the Baysville Canada Day Fireworks Display

    Statement shared from Station 4 Baysville of the Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Department

    The annual fireworks display in Baysville, organized by the Station 4 Volunteer Fire Association, have been cancelled. This is due to provincial legislation that mandates specific safety zone and setback requirements that are no longer met at the Baysville Dam location. The Fireworks Team, who are licensed and solely responsible for the discharge of fireworks and mortars, must make sound safety decisions and adhere to provincial safety standards to maintain their licenses.
