Update: Ministry Issues Flood Watch for North Branch of the Muskoka River Until March 28
March 19, 2025:
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) – Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Flood Watch bulletin is in effect in portions of the District until Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Areas included in this Flood Watch are the Burnt River, Black River and Severn River watersheds and Sparrow Lake.
Residents who have been affected by high water and flow conditions in the past should continue to take necessary precautions to protect and secure any vulnerable property in proximity to rivers and lakes. It is essential to monitor developing conditions closely and regularly check for updated messaging.
March 21, 2025:
The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has added a Flood Watch bulletin within the area of the North Branch of the Muskoka River and on the Moon River (Bala Reach). The bulletin is in effect until Friday, March 28, 2025.
The Township of Lake of Bays is primarily within the Muskoka Watershed and a Flood Watch means that a potential for flooding on these watersheds exists.
