New Donation Boosts Progress of Lake of Bays Community Centre Renovation Fundraising Goal
The Lake of Bays Community Centre renovation project, Operation Facelift, has received a generous donation of $710 from the Baysville Exercise Group. This contribution brings the project closer to its fundraising goal, demonstrating the community's strong support.
In 2022, the Township of Lake of Bays' Mayor and Council, launched Operation Facelift, challenging the community to raise $25,000 to enhance the Lake of Bays Community Centre in Baysville. Council set aside an additional $25,000 for the project, urging residents and organizations to match their commitment. Currently, the community has raised almost $18,000 in donations for the project.
"The overwhelming support from the Baysville Exercise Group and the entire community is truly fantastic," said Scott MacKinnon, Superintendent of Parks and Facilities for the Township of Lake of Bays. "We are now well over halfway towards our goal, thanks to their generous donation and the continuous contributions we have been receiving."
The funds raised will contribute to upgrading the Community Centre, including enhancements to the washroom facilities, the installation of new floor tiling, and improvements to the ceiling.
