Mayor's Welcome

A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR YOUNG

Welcome to the Township of Lake of Bays, our little piece of paradise. We are situated about 2 1/2 hours north of Toronto, a little North of Bracebridge and just East of Huntsville. We are made up of 4 separate communities, Hillside, Dwight, Dorset and
Baysville. The villages have a combination of general stores, coffee spots, restaurants, shops and access to the actual Lake of Bays. We are also home to a number of thriving small industries.

The Township is a year-round vacation paradise. We have a large number of lakes, both big and small with public access points and a number of public beaches. We encourage all forms of boating, sailing, tubing and swimming. We are also located close to 3 Provincial Parks (Arrowhead, Ragged Falls and, Algonquin Park, the best known Park in Ontario). Residents and visitors can make use of the extensive network of trails, activities and facilities.

The most spectacular time of the year to visit Lake of Bays Township is in the autumn when the leaves change colour. Every colour imaginable is presented along the back roads of the Township. Come saturate your senses!

The Lake of Bays Township is open for business. We encourage anyone looking for a new location for his or her business to consider setting up or re-locating here. We have a stable government, well-established resources you need including manpower, telephone and Internet services. Come talk to our Planners and I'm certain we can make a plan to facilitate your venture.

The people, resorts, lodges and many businesses of the Township of Lake of Bays invite you to visit, stay and share our gorgeous setting and experience our heartfelt hospitality.
